In the workop you will find several working areas. They are: a library, a jewelry room, a lapidary room and a saw room.

LIBRARY   Books
The library serves as a conference room, resource center and the social focus of the Club. It should be noted that the library has mostly reference books. Due to the limited supply and the nature
of these books, they must be read at the workshop. Some other books can be borrowed for a period of two weeks. Ask the workshop director to sign out your selected book. The library also has a set of back issues of the Geminews as well as the exchange bulletins from other Club. You should take a moment to read the originals. They are all very interesting.

JEWELRY ROOM
In the jewelry room, 7 workbenches are available to do most types of jewelry work. Whether it is cutting, shaping, filing or soldering, there is equipment there for you to use. There are also two jewelry polishers and an ultra-sonic cleaner.

LAPIDARY ROOM

In the lapidary room, you'll find grinders, polishers and faceting machines set up along two benches, a dopping area as well as a steam cleaner for your jewelry.

The workshop has a sink where you can wash your samples and a saw-room with four saws where you can cut and trim your rock and mineral finds before using the grinders.

Workshop users are responsible to bring and use their own hand-tools as well as the more common consumables, such as saw blades, sand paper, polishing compound, etc. In order to guarantee the best possible polish, users should also bring their own cotton polishing wheels. The addresses of several suppliers can be obtained from the workshop director.
